Hillview School for Girls has been a HeatingSave customer for more than a decade. Since getting their system installed back in 2010, Ben Lacey, the Site & Facilities Manager of the school, told our reporter that “HeatingSave has brought significant savings and advantages to their building”.

Huge energy prices rises on the horizon says regulator
New fears have been expressed by the energy regulator, Ofgem, that UK energy bills could rise 60% by 2020. The news comes as part of a review of the UK energy market which also says that £200,000,000 of investment is needed so that we can secure energy supplies and meet our target on greenhouse gasses.
Another gas supplier up’s it’s prices
Another of the big UK energy suppliers has announced fuel price hikes to domestic customers, which is also likely to affect most small businesses too. Tomorrow, E.On will raise the price it charges for gas by 26% and price for electricity by 16%. This is their second price increase in 12 months, which in total represents a 41% increase for gas; and they seem not to have ruled out further price increases within the next 12 months.
Gas and oil price increase as North Sea supplies dwindle
A report has just come out that examines the link between crude oil prices and wholesale gas prices in the UK. The conclusions of the report are that the link between the two will get stronger over the coming years as the output from the North Sea declines and Britain become more dependent on foreign imports. In 2004 the UK was totally self sufficient but by 2010 half the gas we use will be imported. “It looks like the era of cheap energy is over” said the leader of an industry trade association, and most people involved in the industry think this is so.

The Carbon Trust and the Government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) have added the HeatingSave Small Business system to the Energy Technology List of approved products for the enhanced capital allowances scheme. It has been registered under Boiler Equipment, sub-technology optimising Controllers for Wet Heating Systems. The product application/certification number is 43922.
